About

About

I am a biomedical engineer who quit my job at a leading medical device company to travel the world and study how different countries practice medicine. My passion is in medical device innovation and I’ve realized that if I want to help contribute to the healthcare solutions of the future, I have to better understand the practices and problems of the world and connect with the people who can can help solve them. My trip is funded by my Volkswagen Passat TDI that I sold back as part of the VW emissions scandal!

I am a happy-go-lucky foodie who is open to new ideas and experiences. Most people can locate me by my boisterous laugh, which is often too common. The success of this trip is truly made possible by the generosity of others who have provided me advice and guidance, connected me with others, and who have given me an opportunity to view into their window of life. I am truly appreciative and want to thank my family, friends, colleagues, classmates, professors, and the new friends I will have made along the way!

Not all who wAnders are lost…

I will be traveling through Hong Kong, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, China, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Tanzania, Kenya, TBD. If you are anybody you know has connections to healthcare in any of these countries or will be in these countries, I would be happy to connect! I am looking to meet with people in academia, clinicians, healthcare administrators, healthcare startups/companies, regulatory bodies, government officials, and people living locally. Email me at anders@anderswanders.org!
