Thai Seafood Sauce – Father’s Day Edition
Now that I am back one of the things I am trying to do is a weekly food re-creation with my family where I make some of my favorite foods from traveling! There are so many foods that I tried so this should be a fun way to bring some of the culture and experience back to Minnesota to share with family and friends. The ones that turn out well I plan to post the recipe on here!
This week I made a re-creation of Thai Seafood Sauce that I had in numerous places in Asia. I’ve had this sauce on squid and mussels in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand. It is a very fresh, zangy, spicy sauce that compliments most seafood. I believe the origin is Thailand and after much digging the recipe I found had Thai in the name so we are going with that it is Thai! Check it out next time you make some seafood!
We made calamari with the Thai Seafood Sauce for Father’s Day.
Ingredients:
- 5 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
- 3/4 Tsp Salt
- 10 Fresh Chilies (can add less if you don’t want it Thai level spicy)
- 2 Tbsp Cilantro
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Lime Juice
Prep:
Blend it all together and serve as a dipping sauce or if you are brave you can pour it over the seafood!
Happy Father’s Day!
